Adult Sailing Programs

Adult sailing or windsurfing lessons

This summer we will once again be offering adult sailing or windsurfing lessons, for individuals or two people at once.  These classes are a fun, social activity to do with friends or family throughout the summer. Sailing is a multi-generational sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime

Come down to Sailing Camp Park, 177 Barnes Road, Oak Bluffs and see what sailing is all about.

To participate you must have a Sail MV membership.

Private  1-hour Lessons

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
2-3 pm, 3-4 pm, or 4-5 pm (lessons may be booked in 1-hour time slots)
$75 per hour
$125 per hour for 2 students

Private  2-hour Lessons

Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
2-4 pm or 3-5 pm (lessons may be booked in 2-hour time slots)
Cost: Adult membership $125
$150 for 2 hours
$250 per hour for 2 students

Supervised Sailing:

Supervised sailing is a 2-hour session. The person in charge of the craft must have a Sail MV Class 1 Certificate or an equivalent level from US Sailing or another national governing body. Families can get on the water in one of Sail MV’s Rhodes 19’s and enjoy an afternoon of sailing on Lagoon Pond, with the knowledge that there is a trained sailing instructor watching from a safety boat. 

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
10am-12pm (sessions booked in 2-hour time slots)
Cost: $50 per hour
Sessions must be booked 24 hours in advance by calling 508-696-7644. Spaces limited.

Cancellation and What to Wear:

Take a look at the weather before coming to sailing. Wear clothes that you can get splashed and stay warm. We recommend closed-toe shoes. We provide life jackets, but you may wear your own.

In the event of too much wind, too little wind, or storms. We will cancel the class via email, and you can re-take the class the following week. If you are unable to take the class on another date, you may be refunded. If you chose to cancel your lesson for any reason there are no refund given within 30 days of the class.

Remember, if we are not offering a class that you would like to take, please let us know, we are happy to try and accommodate.
